Benedictine’s baseball is off to a hot 13-2 start, and Collin Short has played a huge role in the Cadets success.
The Benedictine catcher has been reliable all season for his team both in the field and behind the plate, just as he has been over his whole high school career.
His work ethic and talent landed him collegiate offers from Catholic, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and McDaniel; however, it was Gettysburg that landed the Benedictine catcher.
“When I first began my search in the recruitment process, my number one priority was a strong academic foundation,” said Short. “So, what truly gave Gettysburg the edge was their esteemed reputation among liberal arts colleges.
“But other influences included proximity, campus setting, and the facilities. Gettysburg just had a good mix of everything I wanted. I really liked Coach Campo from the beginning and as a small plus, they’re a top competitor in their conference every year.”
