Richmond Christian’s Rashad West has committed to play football for the next two years at Louisburg College.
West announced his commitment to the private junior college in North Carolina school over Twitter on Monday, thanking his family and coaches.
The 6-1, 195-pound defensive end was a force on defense, recording 78 tackles, 5 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries, and 1 pass deflection last season.
He was also selected to the All-State team for defensive end, and All Conference for offensive line.
West not only liked the environment at Louisburg, he liked the proximity to home.
“I picked Louisburg because it wasn’t far from home,” West said. “So my family can come see me play.
“I feel like I can really help the team out and I just felt that great environment when I stepped on campus.”
In 2016, the Louisburg football team, led by quarterback Terrence Ervin, a former L.C. Bird standout, had an undefeated record of 9-0.
With West joining their team, he will look to continue the Hurricanes success.
