Mills Godwin’s Antoine Whitner has received an offer from Virginia Tech for football. This is is second offer, the first being from Virginia.
The 6-5, 305-pound sophomore played right tackle on the Eagles offensive line last season.
Whitner has an interesting, but smart, perspective on what he wants in a college, as he uses the, “broken leg rule.” This means that he looks at schools based on if he will fit even if he can’t play football. “The reason why I use this rule is because I don’t go to school to play football, I play football so I can get an education,” he explained.
Talking about his recent offer, Whitner commented, “I love the fact that they’ve thought about about me and I think Virginia tech has outstanding program both school and football and I can’t wait to get the chance to visit sometime.”
Virginia Tech is a Division 1, ACC school in Blacksburg. Last season, the Hokies finished with a 10-4 record and won the Belk Bowl.
While Whitner has time to make his decision and look to gain more offers, his current two are both very impressive.
