Big-time players make big-time stories and that certainly applies L.C. Bird’s Hakeem Beamon.
The Skyhawks rising junior defensive end/tackle has recently broke the news of his commitment to the University of North Carolina.
He would announce his decision via Twitter. @Hakeem_Beamon: “I’m proud to say that I have committed to the UNC Tar Heel. TO GOD BE THE GLORY‼️”
The 6-4 athlete decision will add another Skyhawk to the ACC as linebackers Rayshard Ashby and Isaiah Moore both are rising freshmen at Virginia Tech and North Carolina State, respectively.
Beamon had his reasons for picking UNC.
“The campus, people on the campus, academics, football ball team, coaching staff and Jordan of course,” Beamon said.
He also said it felt like family there which was another reason of his commitment.
With this commitment came hard work as Beamon would be named 5A All South Region, Second Team Offense All Conference, First Team Offense, and Jan. 24 Scout underclassmen of the week.
Beamon also has a few goals for this upcoming season such as “Being a better teammate, winning states and 20 plus sacks.”
With that being said, L.C. Bird has another star player in Beamon and with him being just a junior it adds on to the fire power for the next two years and also showing Beamon has set the bar for himself for the next season.
