Go Navy, Beat Army. Benedictine running back Caleb Grimes will take on the challenge, as he has committed to play at the United States Naval Academy. Grimes announced his commitment on twitter, (CalebGrimes_) and thanked his school, coaches, family, and God.
“I’m very excited about going to Navy. I feel that Navy will offer me a great education and the opportunity to play football at a high level,” Grimes explained when talking ablut his commitment. He had other offers from West Point, Howard, Bowling Green, and Air Force, but explained he chose Navy because he felt at home when he visited, and liked the family atmosphere.
Last season, the 5-10, 205lb running back ran for 1369 yards off of 164 carries, along with 15 TDs.
In 2016, Navy’s football team finished with a 9-4 record in the Division-1 American Athletic Conference. In their annual match-up against their rival, Army, the suffered a tough defeat, 21-17.
With Grimes commitment, they will be getting a dedicated, hard working player to help them get back at Army this year.
